The most recent-and perhaps most unexpected-snowstorm of the season brought with it the inevitable thaw of early spring, which wouldn't have been a problem if the area didn't receive nearly an inch of rain the previous day. Flooding was an issue in many locations across central and northern Iowa, and Traer was not immune. Here, the area north of town as it appeared this Tuesday, with water still covering a large portion of the normally dry fields. A good chunk of the golf course was also underwater this week. No substantial damage to property has been reported by the county to date.
