After their first trip to the state tournament last season, 2012-13 was bound to be a rebuilding year for the North Tama Redhawks. The ladies performed admirably after enduring the loss of several key players, and really hit their stride the second half of the season, finishing 9-7 in the Iowa Star Conference. Now, three North Tama girls are being honored for their achievements on the court this season.
Allison Zobel was named as a First Team South All-Conference performer after her stellar senior season in which she led the Redhawks in scoring, assists, steals and blocks. Zobel averaged 14.3 points per game for North Tama.
Junior Joise Youel, who will be an important leader for the Redhawks next season, was named as a Second Team South member. Youel scored 8.4 PPG and led the team with 7.3 rebounds per game.
Samatha Zobel, also a junior, was North Tama's third-leading scorer at 5 PPG and second in rebounding with 4.5 RPG. She was named as Third Team South performer for her efforts.
