Former North Tama standout and current Wartburg athlete Kailey Kladivo lit it up on the basketball court this year, and now it appears that she's brought that same swagger to the Knights' track & field program.
Kladivo recently qualified for the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where she finished 15th in the nation with a jump of 5' 4.5".
Kladivo's road to the championships was paved with successful performances at the IIAC Conference Championship on May 10, where she placed second in the high jump with a leap of 5' 4.25".

The following week, Kladivo participated in the Augustana Twilight Meet in Rock Island, Illinois, where she placed third with a jump of 5' 6.5", earning her a spot on the list of National Qualifiers.
Kladivo was also the recipient of some prestigious awards during her first year at Wartburg. She ended her freshman year as the winner of the Top Newcomer for 2013 as voted on by her teammates.
In addition, Kailey was named Female Freshman Athlete of the Year at the annual Golden Knights Award ceremony.
