Senator Chuck Grassley was announced this week as an attendee of the Traer Historical Museum's grand opening of the James "Tama Jim" Wilson exhibit this Saturday, July 20.
Grassley will join U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey at the star-studded event.
"Tama Jim" was an important and influential figure in the history of Tama County and of Traer. Wilson's tenure as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture from March 6, 1897 to March 5, 1913 remains as the longest duration ever served by any American cabinet official.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the museum.
