This year's Winding Stairs Festival will feature entertainment sure to please folks young and old.
On Thursday night, North Tama students are invited to a pool party full of food, games and music. The Junior High will meet from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and the High School from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. Junior High students can also take part in an event on Second Street from 9 to 10:30 p.m.
On Friday, the Lyle Beaver Trio will perform their signature brand of polka music from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. TMU will be giving away free bucket rides from 6 to 10, and there will be a Yo Ho Ho Family Game Night at 7 p.m., where teams of six can compete in family-style games with a grand prize of $150.
Saturday will see the Little Miss/Mr. Talent Show at the Memorial Building at 10 a.m. There will be laser tag and face painting for the kids throughout much of the afternoon, with the Pirate Fest Cooking Contest beginning at noon.
At 5 p.m., participants will line up at North Tama for the Pirate Fest Grand Parade with the North Tama basketball team as grand marshals.
A Max Morrison tribute will be held at 6 p.m. on the west stage, and Victoria Michaels, a hypnotist, will be at the east stage from 6:30 to 7:30.
Andy Anderson and Mike Leeds will be playing dueling pianos from 7:30 to 9:30 on the west stage, bringing a jazzy sound to downtown.
From 9:30 to 10:30 p.m., Big Bob and the High Rollers will play the night away and cap off what looks to be a very eventful Winding Stairs Festival.
