The North Tama County Community School District, which voted last year to approve a 1:1 computer initiative, will be holding workshops for parents and students to help them better understand the devices and policies surrounding them.
The devices will be rolled out between August 12 and 14, with special sessions designed to get parents and their students involved in learning about the Kuno, a tablet which all North Tama Junior and Senior High students will be receiving this year.
At least one parent or guardian from each family must attend the meeting in order for their son or daughter to receive their Kuno. The schedule for the meetings is as follows:
Monday, August 12 - 7th Grade, 6-7:30 p.m., MPR; 8th Grade, 6-7:30 p.m., High School Gym
Tuesday, August 13 - 9th Grade, 6:30-7:30 p.m., MPR; 10th Grade, 6:30-7:30 p.m., High School Gym
Wednesday, August 14 - 11th Grade, 6:30-7:30 p.m., MPR; 12th Grade, 6:30-7:30 p.m., High School Gym
If parents have more than one student in 7th through 12th grade, they may bring all their children to one session. The 7th and 9th grade sessions will also double as school orientation sessions.
If you are unable to attend a session at the scheduled date and time, please contact Paul Rea at 319-478-2265.
