Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary # 453 of Clutier held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 6, at 7 p.m. President Veronica conducted the meeting with eight members present.
Secretary Nancy called the roll and read last month's minutes which were approved as read. Treasurer Linda gave units financial report. Bills presented were to Linda Dvorak for angel food cake and two pies for the IVH picnic. Also to Veronica Pavlicek for sliced tomatoes and three fried chickens for the IVH picnic. Pauline Sienknect made a motion to pay the bills seconded by Mary Seda and motion carried.
Evelyn Caloud, Linda Dvorak, and Veronica Pavlicek helped at the IVH picnic on August 3rd in Marshalltown. Linda's three grandsons, Joe Ruzicka, Ben Dvorak, and Tristan Catron also attended and helped with the residents.
Discussion centered around regular cleaning of the hall, color of paint for the bar room, and setting up rules for renters of the hall. The one stove does not work so Jean Miller made a motion and seconded by Eileen Hora to purchase new one if current one cannot be repaired.
Veronica plans on attending the school on instruction to be held Wednesday, August 21, at Gladbrook beginning at 6 p.m.
Get well cards were signed for Evelyn Caloud and Carole Svoboda. Thinking of you card was signed for Mary Babinat. Happy Birthday was sung to Nancy Cibula and Pauline Sienknecht. Door prize was won by Eileen Hora.
September meeting will be Tuesday the 3rd at 7 p.m. Sewing days will begin in October.
Sandwich lunch was enjoyed by all.
