Traer Star-Clipper

The Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary held their monthly meeting at the post home in Clutier. The meeting began at 7PM on Tuesday, September 3rd with six members present. President Veronica conducted the meeting. Treasurer Linda reported units financial status. No bills were presented for payment. Department, 3rd district, and county obligations were reviewed and paid.

Motion was made by Pauline Sienknecht and seconded by Eileen Hora to give the 40&8 profit to the 40&8 scholarship fund. The M Myrton Skelley Certificate was awarded to Eileen Hora for poppy distribution and collecting over $50 in donations.

The Legion painted the bar room his past week and looks really good. The auxiliary will be cleaning the hall on their monthly meeting days.

Our unit is hosting the joint Tama County meeting on Tuesday September 24th at 7PM. A special speaker from Cedar Valley Outreach Clinic will give message to Veterans regarding different programs available to them.

A thinking of you card was signed by all present for Evelyn Caloud. Pauline Sienknecht won the door prize.

Unit will be holding a sewing day on Tuesday, October 1st at the post home. Will begin at 9AM, potluck at noon and monthly meeting in the afternoon. Our unit would like to encourage anyone to come and join us. We will be tearing and sewing carpet rags for IVH in Marshalltown and lap quilts and ditty bags for Vets Hospital in Iowa City.
