Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary of Clutier held a sewing day with monthly meeting on Wednesday, November, 6th. Day began at 9am tearing and sewing carpet rags. Those helping were Linda Dvorak, Pauline Sienknecht, Helen Sevcik, Vera Sevcik, Eileen Hora, Marlus Svoboda, Lillian Dostal, Mary Seda, and Veronica Pavlicek. Noon potluck was enjoyed by all inaddition to fellowship.
The meeting began at 1:30pm. Jean Miller joined us for the meeting. Treasurer Linda gave financial report. Veronica presented a bill for mailing bake sale letters and vacuum bags. Mary Seda made a motion to pay the bill and seconded by Pauline Sienknecht and motion carried.
President Veronica wants to thank everyone for the excellent turn out for the bake sale. The profits will enable our unit to sponsor a girl to Girls State in June 2014. Vera Sevcik made a motion and seconded by Jean Miller that we send in the reservation form and money to Dept in Des Moines and motion carried.
A motion was made by Mary Seda and seconded by Linda Dvorak that we pay half of the ad that announced the Legion breakfast and our bake sale. Motion carried.
A get well card was signed by all for Julia Babinat. Thank you was read from the family of Lois Hamann Linville.
The November 26th joint Tama County meeting will be held at the Tama Legion Hall at 7pm. There will be a memorial service for the past year deceased Legion and Auxiliary members. The guest speaker will be Amy from the IVH Volunteer Services.
December 3rd & 4th is the IVH gift wrap in Marshalltown. Volunteers are needed to assist residents with choosing gifts and wrapping them. It will begin at 8am at the Malloy LRC. December 14th is the IVH Christmas Open House 1-3:30pm.
Our December meeting will be December 3rd at 1:30pm at the Legion hall. Bring can goods, box mixes or paper product for the North East Iowa Food Pantry to the meeting.
