North Tama students raise money for U of I Children's Hospital

December 6, 2013
Traer Star-Clipper

Due to the amazing support of the Kiss-A-Pig competition, the Traer community raised over $200 for the Children's Hospital in Iowa City. In response to the support, North Tama students Sara Howard and Samantha Zobel have planned two more fundraisers for the cause.

The first will be a pop can drive on December 7th. Sara and Samantha will be walking the town from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. that day collecting cans from anyone willing to donate. If you are unable to be home during the designated time and would still like to donate, please call Samantha at 319-429-0719 or Sara at 319-361-0958, to arrange a time for your donation to be collected.

In the second fundraiser, community members will have the opportunity to play Bingo at three home basketball games. The three games will be December 6th against Don Bosco, December 17th against GMG and December 20th against Janesville. Bingo cards will be $1 and can be purchased before the boys and girls varsity basketball game. The numbers will be called out in between the pep band's songs before the game, during any time out, quarter break and at half-time of each game. There will only be one winner per game and the winner will get 25% of the earnings of that particular Bingo round.
