Hora-Machacek holds sewing day

Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary held a sewing day on Tuesday, March 4th at 9am sewing rag balls for IVH in Marshalltown and two quilt lap tops. Those sewing were Julia Babinat, Margaret Babinat, Evelyn Caloud, Vera Sevcik, Eileen Hora Linda Dvorak, Mary Seda, Pauline Sienknecht, and Veronica Pavlicek.

Potluck was enjoyed by all at noon. Our monthly meeting began after lunch conducted by Veronica Pavlicek. Previous months minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Linda gave units financial report.

IVH Foreign Food Fair is Saturday, March 15th at Malloy LRC. Our unit will be taking 6 dozen kolaches. Food needs to be there at 10:30am and serving from 11 to 1pm. Legion and Auxiliary members are needed for escorts.

Tama County Government Day is Wednesday, April 9th at the Reinig Center in Toledo. Legion and Auxiliary members are needed for escorts and help serve lunch.

President Veronica read "The Wall" which is Veteran statistics regarding the Vietnam war.

Happy Birthday was sung to Veronica Pavlicek.

Units April meeting will be on the 1st. It will be at 10am. No sewing day. Discussion will center on the alumni banquet our unit will be serving on April 26th.
