Susan Traer and her daughter, Emma Traer Wardle, of Toronto, Canada, recently visited our town and were shown a great time by locals. Here is what they had to say about their visit:
It was very exciting to be Traers in Traer! My name is Susan Traer I was born in England and now live in Canada. I'd promised my daughter, Emma Traer Wardle, a trip to Traer, Iowa when I discovered the town some years ago. So... we just spent three days exploring your town and had a wonderful time thanks to the friendly people of Traer. Special thanks to Judy Robb, who showed us around town and through your fabulous museum; and to Joan Reuman who filled us in on general information about Traer and environs. Also the lovely Raymond Mundt who presented us with a photo of the famous winding stairs. And we were thrilled to meet the wonderful Ruth Rasmussen who showed us around the Shaker Gallery. A great visit, a truly memorable experience. Thank you so much Traer!
