Kaufmann, Redhawks close out Clarksville

Paul Kaufmann tallied 16 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals in his final home game, leading the North Tama boys basketball team to a 66-30 rout of winless Clarksville in Friday's Iowa Star Conference finale.

Ben Panfil scored a game-high 17 points and Logan Zobel had 15 more for the Redhawks (11-10, 11-6), who sent the visiting Indians to their 60th consecutive loss dating back to the 2012-13 campaign.

Caden Stuart pitched in with seven points for North Tama, which led 22-6 after the first quarter and 44-11 at the half.

Carter Kelm paced Clarksville (0-21, 0-18) with 11 points.

North Tama starts Class 1A District 5 play on Thursday, meeting Iowa Star South Division foe GMG at 6:30 p.m. in the first of two games at Meskwaki Settlement School. The host Warriors entertain Waterloo Christian in the second game at 8 p.m.
