Michele L. Mennen, 42

Michele Lei Mennen, 42, of Allison, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. She was born December 25, 1972, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Cindy (Wolfgram) and Mark Dedic. Michele attended North Tama and Parkersburg schools. She was married to Rodney Mennen on February 23, 1991, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, and later divorced. Michele worked for North Butler Community Schools in Allison as an elementary paraeducator and worked for J & C Grocery in Allison. She loved children and working at the school. Michele was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison, where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and also was church custodian. She was a volunteer coach for little league baseball and softball. She loved Tinker Bell and cheering for the Minnesota Vikings. Her family was her world. Michele is survived by her son Zachary Mennen (Katie DeBoer) of Allison, son Damien Mennen (Tabitha Buss) of Allison, daughter Brooke Mennen of Allison, grandchildren Willis and Winchester Mennen of Allison, mother Cindy Holen (Steve Shroyer) of Sully, father Mark Dedic of Traer, sister Pam (Bruce) DeVries of Parkersburg, half-sister Krystal Dedic (Robbie Stivers) of Springville, maternal grandmother Shirley Wolfgram of Traer, paternal grandmother Barbara Dedic of Traer, nephew Kyle Slifer (Kate LaVelle) of Cedar Falls, nephew Travis Slifer (Jessica Poore) of Parkersburg, niece Hailey DeVries of Parkersburg, father of her children Rodney Mennen of Allison, along with aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Milton Wolfgram and paternal grandfather Stanley Dedic.

Visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2015, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Allison. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015, at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison, with Rev. Jeffrey A. Blank officiating. Interment will be held in the Allison Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Mennen family.
