Kennedy to lead Traer Ambulance

The City of Traer has named a new full-time Paramedic/Ambulance Service Manager. Shaun Kennedy has been hired to fill the position that was left vacant with the retirement of Martin Herker after 13 years of service to the community. Shaun has been a volunteer member of the Traer Ambulance Service since August of 1996 and received his paramedic certification in 2007.

He brings to this position experience in training, supervising and scheduling as well as most recently working for a professional service that averages 5,100 call per year. Shaun has worked at Iowa Speedway for 10 years with 7-8 years of that time as the grandstand medical supervisor.

Prior to his employment with the City of Traer, Shaun worked for Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center/Central Iowa Healthcare for eight years as a paramedic, with two of those years in the position of lead paramedic.

Shaun's goal with this position is to provide the city of Traer and surrounding areas with the highest level of emergency care possible. The Traer Ambulance Service averages slightly over 300 calls a year. His office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, so feel free to stop in and say hello or introduce yourself!
