Three buses visited Gallery in October

November 21, 2011
Traer Star-Clipper

It is always fun to see buses parked in front of the Traer Salt and Pepper Shaker Gallery. Two of the three buses which visited this past month were from Illinois, and the other was a bank tour group from Manchester.

Jan Stockton of Nicolet Scenic Tours based in Ringwood, Illinois wrote the following note after their visit: "A big thank you for sharing the most unbelievable collection of salt and pepper shakers! We decided we must come back because there were so many we missed! I am sure Mrs. Rasmussen never knew in the beginning what an amazing collection she would amass! We loved it! Thank you!"

Visitors in October came from the Iowa towns of Traer, Marshalltown, Waterloo, Marion, West Des Moines, Des Moines, Ames, LeClaire, Vinton, Cedar Rapids, Toledo, Waverly, Dysart, Edgewood, Manchester, Dubuque, Earlville, Winthrop, Oneida, Gladbrook, North Liberty, Newton, Sully, Iowa City, Haverhill, Pella and New Hartford.

Out of state visitors were from the following states: Illinois, Ohio, Colorado, Louisiana, Arizona, Wisconsin, Texas, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Minnesota and Virginia.

In total, 144 adults visited the Gallery during October, less than some of our summer months, but still a good number. We are seeing second and third time visitors, bringing friends and relatives to visit, so that is a wonderful thing to see as we know they appreciate our community's attraction.
