Pool project needs public help with $100,000 CAT grant

January 25, 2013
Traer Star-Clipper

It is time for you to act! The City of Traer's application for CAT grant funding of the pool renovation project is before the Vision Iowa CAT Committee. About $100,000 in CAT funding is at stake, and we need your commitment now!

The Make Waves for the Traer Pool | Keep FIT (Families in Traer) Campaign has gifts, pledges and grants totaling about $270,000 as of January 2013. We have accomplished much. We received the Black Hawk County Gaming Association grant of $70,000 and we are awaiting word on other grants, including one from Prairie Meadows. Those along with the CAT would put us at about $500,000, halfway to our goal.

But we won't even get the CAT grant unless we receive commitments for the remaining $500,000 of our fundraising goal NOW. The City Council passed a resolution to seek bond financing when fundraising is complete and the project will go forward, but only if you make your gift commitment now!

Make your check payable to the Traer Community Foundation | Pool Fund and mail it to the Traer Community Foundation, P.O. Box 435, Traer, Iowa 50675. Monies in the Foundation's Pool Fund are available to the City of Traer upon demand as needed for the pool project. Or make your gift online now! Donors who wish to make online gifts to the Make Waves | Keep FIT Campaign may do so by clicking here. Click on "Fundraise With Us" under the donation button to create your own Traer Pool Campaign fundraising page to share with others who might wish to help. Click the "Follow" button and keep track of our progress!
