Ronald L. Novak, 64, of Chicago, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2014 at his home. Services will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Traer on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Wencelaus Cemetery in Clutier.
Ronald Lee Novak was born on August 14, 1949, in Toledo, Iowa, the son of Bernard and Doris (Novotny) Novak. He grew up in Toledo and graduated from South Tama High School. Ron then attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated with a degree in Political Science. He then started working in food service management. Ron managed numerous restaurants throughout the United States for many years. Most recently, Ron taught culinary science in the Chicago area. He liked traveling, playing cards, going back to the family farm, and spending time with his family and friends. Ron was a very caring person and enjoyed life to the fullest. Ron died at the age of 64 on April 4, 2014, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ron is survived by three brothers, John (Mary) Novak of Traer, Tom (Nikki) Novak of Toledo, and Robert Novak of Des Moines; a sister, Anita (Dennis) Bohnstengel; two nieces; four nephews; and two great nephews. Ron will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
