She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harvey James Huhn, her parents, John William and Bertha Mae (Ward) Brown, and six siblings. Willia is survived by her two daughters, Pat (Doug) Latham of Earlham and Pam (John) Harrington of Haverhill; four grandchildren, Angie (Mark) Whaley, Wyatt (Heather) Latham, Matt Sevde and Tara Latham. She is also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Dominic Latham and Avery Whaley. She is also blessed with one remaining brother, Harold Brown and his two daughters, Lisa (Rob) and Debbie (Randy) and her brother-in-law, Bob Huhn and his daughter Grayce (Terry). Willia has been blessed with nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and friends. Two of her dear friends, Evelyn Powell and Irmagard have been such a joy to her with their fun trips to the casino, many phone conversations and visits.
Willia was born December 19, 1925 in Rover, AR. She was the 5th in the line of 8 children. When the Great Depression hit her family became migrant workers, following the crops from TX to CA, picking cotton, cherries, apples, lemons, olives, whatever work provided for the family. Her family settled in CA where she met a cousin of a neighbor who lived in Iowa. That is when her life path brought her to Iowa where she met her future husband at a church event in Des Moines. Harvey and Willia married on July 14, 1951. They farmed south of Tama for 58 years before Harvey passed. She has spent the last few years of her life enjoying family and friends living in Marshalltown and Toledo.
Sincere thanks goes to Tama County Public Health, Iowa River Hospice Home and all the doctors and nurses who helped make her final time comfortable. Memorial contributions can be made to Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown, Iowa.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Grandview Cemetery south of Tama on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 1:00 PM.
